Yes, you read that right Halloween is right around the corner! And yes summer is coming to an end :( If you're like me and make your own Halloween costumes, now is the time to start! Halloween has always been a favourite holiday for me; dressing up, watching spooky Halloween movies, Halloween parties and the best part all the candy! My favourite candies are Reese's Peanut Butter cups mmmm. I always start my Halloween costume hunt on the very helpful, hard to cite pictures for projects, Pinterest! I have a Halloween board that has many different costume ideas that I usually look at before I start adding more to the board. This year when I looked at my Halloween Pinterest board I was brought down memory lane looking at my inspiration from previous Halloweens. Below are a few of my Halloween costumes from previous years to give you some Halloween inspiration! Mwahaha! Last year I dressed up as Velma from Scooby Doo, I received tons of complements and many people said I looked just like her! For my Velma costume it took me tons of trips to Value Village to find the perfect skirt, shoes and sweater. Jinkies! My glasses that I'm wearing are my actual glasses that I wear on a regular basis and the wig I bought at the Spirit Halloween. Unfortunately I couldn't find any bright orange socks at Value Village so I purchased mine at a Halloween store then found a sweater at Value Village that matched the color of the socks. Hunting for items for a Halloween costume at Value Village was very time consuming but I was very happy with the end costume result. This costume is a very easy costume that anyone can do if you're able to find the right clothing items and accessories. It can also be the perfect easy couples costume or group costume! All you need is a Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby! Another year I dresses up like a Greek goddess. I was covered in gold sparkles for weeks but it was well worth it! All I needed to dress like a Greek goddess was a gold leaf crown that I bought at Value Village, a white sheet (I used a few meters of white satin I had lying around), gold glitter, a gold rope for my waist and some sandals. I had everything to complete the outfit but the shoes. I was very sad about it but I wore my comfy classic red converse for Halloween instead. I got many compliments this year as well, people loved this costume! Other previous Halloweens I got very into Halloween make up which is always a quick, easy way to make your costume look amazing without wearing anything crazy. One year I thought it would be hilarious if I dressed up like the "Spooky Scary Skeleton" guy in that video (linked below if you haven’t seen it). Many people thought it was funny and many others were frightened by my scary makeup. Alright there you have it 3 fairly easy Halloween costumes that I've put together myself and made them very extra. Any of the Halloween costumes about could be simplified and still make an amazing costume. For more Halloween costume inspiration check out my Pinterest.
Happy Halloween everyone! BOO! -SaShA
